What To Do After People Donate To Your Cause

Once someone has donated to your cause, don’t stop communicating!

Keep it going.

In fact — you should communicate even more. A lot of organisations can be focused so heavily on creating new customers and new donations that they aren’t focusing enough on their existing supporters. There’s nothing more underwhelming than being sold on how important the mission is, then hearing crickets after you’ve given them your money.

Focus on existing donors.

It’s much easier to sell an existing customer than acquire a new one — the same thing goes for donations. By showcasing your progress, stories, behind the scenes content and current projects, you will get repeat donations but also create an emotional relationship that people want to be a part of.

Document your journey.

“Creating content” can seem like a daunting task. To make it easier, think of it as broadcasting instead of creating. By simply sharing the wonderful things you do on a regular basis, you can create a lifelong donor. Email marketing and social media are great ways to do this.

Keep up the communication! Email is the most popular and usually the most effective way but you can also include social media, phone calls and even messenger bots. If you’d like to set up a fundraising campaign with the tools you need to succeed, check out DonationHub.
